Introduction
独自開発された「特殊潜航艇」、その後期改良型のさらなる発展型です。従来の甲標的を大型化、航続距離や通信能力を強化、搭乗員も5名に拡張、艇首に45cm魚雷発射管2基を備えるミニ潜水艦に近づいた強化発展型甲標的です。本来はその戦局から艦上での運用を前提の設計でしたが、改良型の本艇は同運用に対応した水上艦での積極運用が可能です。
This is the enhanced version of a late model of the domestically-designed and produced "Special Midget Submarine". This upgraded variant has been enlarged compared to older Kouhyouteki models, possessess ehanced telecommunation assets and cruising range, while also being equipped with two bow-mounted 45cm torpedo launchers and having its crew member increased to five men; as a result, it has more closely approached the designation of Mini-Submarine. Originally designed to be used aboard ships in accordance to the situation of the war during its time, this remodeled version can also be actively utilized by surface warships.
