Introduction
It originated from biplane type 96 dive bombers that underwent a complete overhaul, the result of which was introduced as a modern carrier-based monoplane dive bomber.
It's called "Type 99 Dive Bomber" and together with the "Type 97 Torpedo Bomber" made up the core of the early task forces' attack units.
Since it was a slow aircraft with non-retractable landing gear, it later gave way to the faster and better performing dive bomber "Suisei".
Notes
Buildable
- Development requires at least 10 , 10 , 10 , 20 , with Bauxite as primary resource for a drop rate of 10% or Ammo as primary resource for a drop rate of 7%. Isolated reports exist of successful development with Fuel/Steel as primary resource, but the probability is only approximately 0.1%.

Trivia
- The Type 99 Dive Bomber sank more Allied warships than any other Axis aircraft despite being considered obsolescent when the war started.
