| I'm the light aircraft carrier, Shouhou. Yes, I'm a little small, but please make a place for me on your fleet!
First of the Shouhou-class aircraft carriers. Originally, a submarine tender. If it's not the flagship or the main fleet but a small task-force, then by all means use me! If you make use of me, I'll surely get good results! |
||
Secretary 1 | あ… | U-uh... Um.
| Eh, do I like coral? No, I hate it! | She was sunk at the Battle of the Coral Sea.
| Um...if you touch me too much, I can't launch my aircraft. Can we do it after I've launched everything? | Pun on "every aircraft" (全機, zenki) and "foreplay" (前戯, zengi).
| One dive bomber... two dive bombers... three... Ah, Admiral! It's okay, I'm not lonely or anything. I have my planes with me and... Ah, yes! | Historically, she carried 18 fighters (+3 reserves) and 9 torpedo bombers. Japanese light carriers were too small to operate dive bombers, whose sturdy wings could not be folded as with the more lightly constructed torpedo bombers. So, where did those dive bombers come from? hmm...
| Once in a while, won't you try taking it easy and be yourself? Forget about things like sortie and your duty... I mean, I'm sorry! That's no good, isn't it... Literally means 'Spread one's wings', an expression for loosening oneself and behaving in a carefree manner.
| Admiral, am I being useful? Really? Then...that's great. From now on, I'll always be by your side!
| Admiral, you have a message from command.
| Fleet, time to sortie!
| Huh? I'm so happy! For you to be giving me strength!
| Thank you! Now, I'll be able to keep up with the fleet carriers!
| Sorry to keep you waiting.

| Time for a little rest. I'll be well shortly.
| If I stay like this, I'll just be a target for the enemy. I'm sorry, but I need to rest a little.

| Will my planes be okay...? No, it'll be fine!
| Enemy fleet spotted! Bombers, please prepare for flight!
| Straying too far from the fleet is dangerous... | She's worried about her planes being in danger. Most of the aircraft Shouhou carried did not carry radios or radar equipment and the radios they did have were of poor quality, meaning if the fleet changed course while aircraft were sortieing they would not be able to find their way home.
| I'm still an aircraft carrier! I can do it!
⇧ shared with day/night special attacks, support expedition team arrival

| Aaaah!
| Ow! How dare you!
