- The most bubbly and outgoing of all the Sendai-class sisters, even going so far as to proclaiming herself as the fleet's idol. Many of her in-game lines reflect that.
- Naka tends to want to be the "center" of the fleet; her name (Naka) can also be written as "中", meaning "center", "in the middle of", and such, this reflects to her personality.
Appearances in derivative works[]
- Naka appears in the anime adaptation of Kantai Collection as a part of Torpedo Squad 3 alongside her sister ships, Sendai and Jintsuu as well as destroyers, Yuudachi, Mutsuki and eventually, Fubuki. Along with the rest of Torpedo Squadron 3, she helps welcome Fubuki to her new life in the naval base.

- Received her Kai Ni on 15/01/14 in commemoration of a fan-made image song of her, 2-4-11 of Love, composed by Gun-SEKI, being released on JOYSOUND, a major Japanese karaoke network. The song was later covered by Ayane Sakura, Naka's voice actress at the First Yokohama Naval Review Rehearsal, while in cosplay as Naka herself, though no official recordings exist.
