Heya there! I am doing fine, thanks for asking! ^__^
I had mainly been abroad this past seven months and therefore could not be playing this game very actively, nor was I able to write any guides for the past couple of events, unfortunately. Last week, I returned from my vacation in Japan (first time!), but had to miss out on the first week of this event.
As you might have already guessed, I am currently catching up with the current event. I am now halfway through the second phase of E-4, but have not been able to reach the boss anymore in these last few sorties. :/ I suppose this is where I should start whining about RNGoddess/Compass-chan. ;_;
I am doing fine, too, thank you. Ah, so that's why you appear to be inactive in the wiki the past half a year or so. And it sounds that you had had a good vacation, too. :D
We are more or less on the same boat in this event. I also missed out the first week of the event (only started on 18th my time) due to lots of RL matters. I have already started whining about RNGoddess since E-3H TP phase because the nodes were pure EVIL! (; w ;) Well, at least until I started using node support expeditions. Currently, I am about to start the 2nd phase of E-4. Five-way ship lock (AND special/historical ships for routing) leaves me so much to think about... In retrospect, I think I spend way too much time thinking about fleet compo than actually sortieing! @_@;;;
I am rushing a bit here because my schedule ahead doesn't look so free, so I plan to completely forgo Easy mode farming. Fortunately, E-1 Hard farming (for Sagiri) looks relatively easy if you have the equipment to deal with the PT Imps, and E-4 Hard farming (for Amagiri) also doesn't look so bad. Luigi and Matsuwa, though...
Yep, my vacation was definitely good! I have noticed that KanColle is still very much alive in Japan, though it is not a really big thing in the stores (anymore?). Franchises such as Love Live!, iM@S, Fate and Dragonball are doing quite hot right now. I imagine KanColle used to be like that too, sadly.
I returned on the 18th as well! E-3 TP phase did not pose much of a problem to me though (5 attempts, 5 encounters, 3 kills and S ranks). On the other hand, the HP phase took quite some time. The second phase of E-4 has been the most terrible one for me so far. I hope you already have cleared that map by now. :O Anyway, good luck with your RL matters! :)
Farming E-1 and E-4 do not seem bad indeed. The same could not be said for E-5 though. Some people say it is a relatively easy map compared to the others, but I struggled quite hard clearing that map actually. By the way, Sagiri dropped for me while clearing E-2! ^__^ That saves me some time and effort at least. I quite like her. :)
I happen to have checked the wikia page on the PT Imps. I would say, if you are bored of sortieing, take some time reading through the comments on that page. I found it quite entertaining. :o
Hey, it's nothing to be sad about. Franchise goes up and down, that's an inevitability. Also remember, KanColle has lived for 4 (four!!) years! It is already well beyond the developer's original expectation, and quite an achievement for a browser game. I cannot say much about the idol franchises, as I don't really follow them, but Fate and DB being hot stuff is not unexpected. Both franchises have cult-like follower. Type-Moon also constantly refreshes its Fate franchise, with Fate/GO has only been released on 2015. I think DB also recently get new series or reboot? The one that introduces a saiyan girl? It's no wonder if they are being the hot stuff at the moment (and to be honest, comparing them to KC is not fair to begin with - only few franchises can stand up to them). XD
Yes, I have broken through E-4H. Had 6 failed LD runs which never reached the boss... but the 7th run did, and, in what that might be an incredible stroke of luck, killed French Baguette Princess right then and there ( ^_^;). Last night, I farmed Matsuwa on E-5 Easy mode and managed to get her on my 4th run, so, today, I will begin E-5H in earnest.
Good catch with Sagiri! Although I like Amagiri more (megane power!). :P
Good luck with the event to you as well! Fair seas! ( ^_^ )/
KanColle has been alive for quite a long time now. I should not be sad about this indeed. :) I still wish KanColle will stay around for much longer though! Idols have always been big/biggest, but neither do I really follow those. DB is seeing a resurgence mainly because of DB Super, I would guess. And Fate/GO is very hot right now too. I wish I was able to play that game. Oddly(?) enough, the other big online game that is missing in the merchandise stores is Granblue Fantasy. I have no idea why though. I might get into that game too in the near future actually.
Congratulations on clearing E-4 and obtaining Matsuwa! ^__^ In hindsight, I should have farmed E-5 in Easy difficulty as well since we still have quite some time before the event ends. I like how you named her "French Baguette Princess" by the way. xD How is E-5 coming along?
The megane power is strong in that one indeed. I like Sagiri's personality better though. :)
Yeah... GBF makes me wonder too. It seems to be quite successful as a game, yet there do not seem to be any merchandise of it (yet).
And thank you. Things have been relatively smooth sailing since the last I posted. After switching to Hard, I proceeded to do the debuff E-5H by S-ranking nodes C and D. Node D (the @!#$ PT Imp node) gave me more troubles than node C (DJ Hime) - it took me only one run of the latter to S-rank while the former took two! So in the boss kill run, I prefer to go through C rather than D. Not once I got turned back - 5 runs, 3 S rank, 2 A rank.
The LD run was stupidly hilarious and incredibly lucky, too. In my drowsiness, I swapped a bomber for a Zero Type 21 because I thought there will be slight enemy fighter power on LD. However, I completely forgot that it requires 9 range to get to boss node, while the Zero 21 only has 7 range. I only realized it when I was already on LBAS target designation screen. So, yeah. I went to LD without LBAS support at boss - but killed her anyway (with S-rank, too) XD.
I spent last night and this morning farming for Luigi on Easy, and managed to secure her \( ^o^ )/ when I was nearly halfway the TP bar (840/1350 for Easy). S-ranking the boss using CTF was almost effortless with 2 LBAS at your disposal, and most of it was attained with day battle only. Right now, I'm about to dive on it on Hard... hopefully will be able to finish before the week ends.
How about your event though? I hope it is going well. :)
Wow, you had pretty good luck with E-5! :O Congratulations on clearing that map as well! Also congratulations on securing Luigi! ^__^ She seems like a good character, even though I am not much of a lolicon. xD
How is E-6 on Hard difficulty coming along?
I am currently at the final kill phase at E-7, but it might take a while.. The pre-final kill attempts were pretty doable, since I had my girls equipped with OASW and FCF too. Reaching the boss now is quite hard. I have only done 7 attempts so far, as I have spent a lot of time sparkling... In my last run, I managed to reach the boss and used Underway Replenishment, but only got her to moderately damaged.. :/ I am currently just grinding plane ranks, in the hope that that yields much better results at boss battles.
Thank you! XD Well, not much of a lolicon myself here, but I want to keep my KanDex as complete as possible. So, Seaplane Fighter Guy gotta do what Seaplane Fighter Guy does. :P
E-6H is a bit on the frustrating side for me right now. The TP phase was tedious, but that's it. The HP phase, though, is annoying. With debuff active, killing the boss is not much of an issue; she is so squishy that victory is almost assured provided that you can reach her. However, the preboss nodes ARE the issues. Sniper subs and Nu / Wo kai walls, enough said.
I think in my next run, I will load 4 ships with OASW fit and use FCF because, darn those subs!
Wow, you're fast. Are you doing E-7 on Hard? And if you do, and when you complete it, mind sharing me the fleet compo and replay? :)) Yes, I heard it is frustrating as well, because multiple boss-class abyssals along the way and no way around them - that's why I want to collect as many fleet compo references as possible.
EDIT : UPDATE:
E-6H completed. Four OASW ships on escort did wonders (or maybe my mini-rant here did appease RNGoddess :P). They even managed to sink the boss during yasen while she is on green condition. On Red T. That's how severe the debuff affected her.
Congratulations on conquering E-6 as well! That map was not much of a threat indeed, mainly just a boring one... I would say it is "the calm before the storm". The storm which is better known as E-7 Final kill. :P I have not given that any new attempts yet, but will do after all my overnight expeditions have returned.
I do not think I am very fast though since I have been clearing only 1 map a day (E-1 and E-2 on the same day) and today is my fourth or fifth day on E-7. I have been slacking somewhat on this map though.
Below are the replays of my successful attempts. I have included replays of my sorties unlocking the special mechanisms.
Thank you for putting those up for me! :D Already I can glean a lot of info from them - they are definitely helpful. As expected of the final map, on Hard diff, it is reserved only for the most prepared and patient of admirals. I wonder how hard the community will think of this event after it's over. XD
Most admirals appear to finish it with Hayasui cocktails, while some of the wealthier ones went with Reinforcement Expansions + 12 Repair Goddesses. However, in what that I think to be the most inspirational news of the day, I am pleased to see that TenkouKuugen managed to complete E-7H without those.
Anyway, good luck to you as well! :D Please do tell when you managed to finish it. ( ^_^ )/
Wow... That is what I would call "too close for comfort". Too close as in it was too close to a final kill that it might make me lose sleep.
My progress in E-7H is very slow... only managed to chip the bar down to slightly less than 50%, and no clean kill has been scored so far. It's not a situation that I have never been in, but looking ahead, while there are still more than a week left for event, I worry about my RL time. I am already considering tuning it down to Medium. It would suck to not get Swordfish Mk. III, but not getting Ark Royal in this opportunity may be a bigger loss in the future XD. Prudence before pride.
That sounds bad... From the sound of it... I take it that you are close to "I just want to be done with it in any way, including tuning down from Hard"? I heard that the difficulty jump from Hard to Normal is quite... extreme, some say.
Anyway, I already put a cutoff date and resource threshold by which if any of them reached first, I will step down from Hard.
Those are really close runs. Just need a 'lil bit of luck, I guess?
I am just about ready to throw the towel on Hard, eventhough I have not hit my resource critical threshold. It's because of catbombs. I've been having them in the last 2 days, and already several runs are botched by those. It's pretty demotivating... ( ;_; )
Yes, I do have Discord acc. My handle is Alatreon#9996. Feel free to leave a message when you have chance. :))
For E-2 Hard, Transport TF, as you may have experienced, has rather dicey chance to reach boss. Out of 7 runs with Transport TF, I only managed to reach the boss 3 times (less than 50% rate!!). But when they do reach the boss, they deal massive hit to the TP bar. With A-rank (worst case possible), I could manage to chip the bar by 85 (9 daihatsus and 1 drum, IIRC).
Carrier Task Force, on the other hand, has very high chance to reach the boss. Out of 5 runs, I reached the boss 4 times (80% boss reach rate) and managed S-rank 3 times. With S-rank, I can chip the bar by about 72 (with 6 daihatsus and 1 drum).
Total runs: 12 attempts; 7 reached boss (3 Transport, 4 CTF), 5 retreats, 3 S-rank.
Both node and boss support expeditions were used in all runs, btw, so it's rather expensive.
Thoughts - Transport TF, while cost less per run, is rather unreliable, and very bucket heavy. If you're unlucky, the resource cost may well exceed CTF... CTF is very expensive to run (esp. on bauxite), but has high probability to reach the boss. This is not a fun map to farm at Hard, IMO, but doable if you have a good reserve of resources. Farming on Easy is highly recommended if you feel you are low on resources.
I cannot say much about E-3 Hard at the moment, because I am still preparing myself. This is probably going to be the only event sorties in which I take time to sparkle everyone in the fleet, because I fear losing a Saiun, and I don't have many of them... T_T (attempting to craft one can cost you extra sanity loss and several thousand bauxites).
Torpedo CI is always handy... provided that it triggers.
I like the design for the Kamikazes, that's why I always try to include them in practices, hence their adequately high level. Tbh, I had planned to use them as drum mules in E-2, but then I noticed that they have really high luck... O_O;
Yes, I think it is better to start attempting to clear event now, especially if you plan on all-hard clear. As you can see from my report, E-2H is not to problematic to A rank with CTF, provided that your resources hold. It's disheartening to hear that you haven't managed to get Fujinami... let's hope you can get her during the clear run.
As an aside, I have started clearing run on E-3H boss. Both hidden debuff have been applied, and I'm sloooowly chipping away at it (while hoping for I-13 drop). If you need info on E-3, I'll be happy to provide :).
Nah, Kaga would not only become 'good friends'. She is secretly proud of her juniors. She has always been. :D
How do I know that? Because, like Kongou to you, Kaga is my one true waifu, despite the many girls I have ringed. XD
Yeah it sure is! Though I actually meant to say that torpedo cut-ins seem somewhat necessary to snipe down the boss in this map. If I remember correctly, there are many tough enemies at the boss node, which won't go down easily. :/
I have finally managed to obtain Fujinami! I will attempt to clear E-2 on Hard now. ^-^
Does it take a lot of time to clear both E-2 and E-3? If you don't mind sharing your compositions and/or replays, please do. :D
Also, having one true waifu and multiple ("many" even) girls ringed seems contradicting, no? :O
Since I actually like your work I would like to chip in a bit. Although I'll excuse myself from telling you what to use because I believe you know the stuffs enough.
E-2H can be described in one word: Tedious.
It will be splitted into two sections. Pre-LD and LD. I went with Transport until when I'm close to Last Dance, then I reduced my TP-bar-depletion amount as to not trigger Last Dance yet (as to do as little CTF run as possible). Then, I did CTF twice (the first one failed to S-rank) to finish it off.
E-3H is splitted into two sections: TP and HP
I think you've seen enough complaint about TP-phase to know what's going on. You can choose to either finish it in one go (equip Saiun Dismantle x 2 in your SSV) or do it twice. I went with "in one go" and went all in. As in, Node support (not needed), Boss support and Sparkles. MAKE SURE YOU REACH THE REQUIRED LoS! That's where most people screw up. You will need at least a Shiun and an Obs if you want to equip only 2 planes. Equip it in your SSV with the highest LoS for most bonus (e.g IIRC Shioi). Then hope you A-rank it in one go. If you come back for Debuffing, use LBAS with full Chevron + Boss Support and pray for Cut-in.
HP-phase is just annoying because of the wo-kai nodes prebosses. The boss itself, isn't that bad. STF fleet is your friend because lowest node count and you reach boss without amoo/fuel debuff. However, you almost likely to equip both of your CVL with Fighters to compensate for the Air power. If too low, you might need to rely on LBAS to do the leftover job. CV Hime can be wiped with LBAS if lucky and even if not, their escorts aren't too hard. The problematic part is that the boss (BBV) has high Armor and HP so this might take a while. Just equip your girls mostly with DA set-up to help with chipping. Chipping part is usually the longest part because each run can range from S-rank to A-rank-and-barely-any-damage. Therefore, a DA set-up is better beause the proc rate higher than TCI. At last dance + debuff, the boss became easier (really) and you should have less problem with it. Replacing one high luck ship (i.e. 50+) with TCI is plausibile if you really want to rely on sniping....or you can just stick with DA. CLT helps too.
Gladly! I shall share my compo and some replays. :)
First, congratulations on getting Fujinami. I haven't got her, but I will at least try. :D
Zel-melon up there has given a nice summary of what you should watch out for in these two maps, so I will be just adding some things.
As you can see in my E-2H report in the beginning of this thread, it actually didn't take long for me in term of attempts/runs to finish it: Twelve attempts were all it takes - I did it over a span of three days because RL, so, yeah...
I only used Transport TF for 3 successful runs, with which I depleted roughly a little less than half of the gauge and then switched to CTF. I did so because: 1) I want to secure S-rank for chance at Fujinami drop, and 2) there are reports stating that when the TP is about 25% remaining, Transport TF will get routed from J to H and then back to J again - meaning wasted resources. Torpedo CI was not really crucial IMO because you do not need to kill the boss to destroy the bar. Just score A-rank is enough. Here is my E-2H LD replay:
E-3H report will be in new post because I fear of stacking too many pictures in one post. XD
On to E-3H, it was a different level of scary because I did not have many spare Saiuns, and attempting to craft one can easily burn a lot of bauxite. Zel-melon there went YOLO with carrying both disassembled Saiuns in one go and succeeded. If you are cautious, bring one at a time, like I did :p. As Zel said, node support is not really necessary, but if you find node A to be troublesome due to that one late model DD one-shotting your sub, then... Anyway, sparkling and boss node support are almost required, IMO, because the boss node is a combined fleet and you need to score at least A rank so as to not waste Saiun. It might be a wise move to take stock at your fleet upon passing node D and see if you think they have a chance at the boss. Personally, if I have two medium damaged subs at node D, I will retreat.
Zel has said it, and I'm going to repeat it again: Make sure you have at least 5.5 LoS with Formula-33, else you will get offrouted. Saiun and Type 0 Observation Seaplane should be enough to get you well over that value (8.7 for me). Here is the replay of my last Saiun delivery sortie:
Now, on to the HP phase, first I did was applying the hidden debuff in which you are required to S-rank nodes I and J once each. Node J was not much of a problem because it is only two nodes away from the starting point (also, I think I'm lucky to get the easy composition :p). The enemy is Isolated Island Hime and lots of installation, so equip Type-3 shells, Daihatsus, and/or WG42s. I used only LBAS x 2 and no support expedition - but if you want to use expedition, just remember that it is a regular node and not boss node. :p As usual, here is the replay:
S-ranking node I is a rather tough job for submarines. Fortunately, unlike the TP phase, you can use 2 LBAS now. Coupled with boss support, it is very possible. Remember that the LoS requirement still apply. And although it is said that the minimum is 5.5, I got offrouted once while having 6.5 LoS because I mistook a Type 0 Recon with Type 0 Observation in Shioi.
The run to the actual boss itself is, like Zel has nicely summed up, annoying because of the Wos. I've had good boss encounter rate, actually, but it was probably due to my luck holding. I second Zel's opinion of packing night DA in escort fleet for chipping run due to its reliability. Me, personally, I used CI setup in my escort from the get-go. The result is surprising...
Although, let's not kid ourselves. THIS run is probably the most representative of how it will end up most of the time ^_^
I am actually not far into chipping the HP, mostly because of RL issues. So far, it's been 4 attempts, 1 retreat, and 3 encounters with 2 being As and one S-rank.
Thus concludes my report. Hopefully the replays also give detail about my fleet compo and equips. If you have question, feel free to ask ;)). Good luck!
NB: About Kaga - Well, the ring is, like the game said, a symbol of "provisional marriage". Truth is, I have "ringed" her waaay before the provisional marriage is implemented XD. The in-game ring is like a symbol of recognition of a shipgirl's exceptional service. The REAL ring is somewhere else :p. At least that's what my KCverse headcanon says. XD
Thank you, Zel and Seaplane fighter guy for all of the information and tips you have given to me here! I really appreciate your input. :)
I managed to clear E-2 last night and will start with E-3 soon today. It took me 4 sorties with TTP to get the bar under 25%. After which 7 sorties with a CTF were required to clear the map. in my second last run, I had to retreat two girls with the FCF. That run resulted in having 2 points left on the gauge actually..
All in all, E-2 is a pretty easy map if you send both support expeditions.
Now, about E-3, what is the likelihood of your fleets to reach the boss node and earn an S rank there? Is E-3 on Hard farmable?
Good the hear that you have managed to complete E-2H. Now, E-3H is where the real "fun" begins.
I am currently on E-3H last dance run, and I can say that farming this map on Hard is really not advisable as it is very resource heavy with support expeditions and LBAS being required to at least secure A rank in boss node (hope for I-13!).
Without counting the debuff runs, I did 12 attempts, 8 of which reached the boss, and 3 of them being S-rank (and still no I-13...) during pre-LD.
LD, though, for some reasons, being really harsh. I did 11 attempts, only 4 reached boss, and 3 of them being A-rank. All three preboss nodes are similarly annoying in taiha-ing one (or more) of your kanmusus.
I changed my compo a bit for the LD run. Since I want more night battle power, I moved Maya K2 to the main fleet, replacing one FBB, and put Myoukou K2 in the escort fleet. This compo managed to S-rank the boss in pre-LD, but hasn't managed so in LD.
I might toy around by reverting back to 4FBB 2CVL + CL 2CLT CA 2DD, but keeping Myoukou and swapping one of the DDs with Hatsuzuki for AA duty...
I find that switching to 4FBB in the main fleet in the last 8 runs really helped to reach the boss (6 boss encounters, one being the boss kill) because they often manage to take out or disable the pesky Wos in the preboss nodes during shelling phase before their turn come. Also, love the mangiapatata battleship (Bisko) with her fit guns :p. She might not hit hard, but she hit consistently. The pasta duo with their pasta guns were also commendable - it is as if they are not affected by the -1 acc.
Total Last Dance attempts: 19 - 10 boss encounters, 1 S-rank.
Total E-3H attempts on HP phase only: 31 - 18 boss encounters, 4 S-ranks.
Now commencing Operation Hikari-ni: Save Privates Hitomi and Fujinami.
Edit: Just a heads up - there is report that ASW gear has damage multiplier against the boss. Torpedo/Torpedo/Sonar on powerful high-luck DDs such as beaver appear to be effective. Complete info is already added in the E-3 tab of event page.
How are you? Haven't heard from you for a while. Hope everything is all right on your side.
I just want to add some further tip regarding farming in E-3 on Hard.
If you find yourself having trouble passing the preboss nodes, try sending one LBAS full with your best fighters (after what you have loaded into your CVLs) to nodes W and L once each. The fighters should be able to trim down Wo-class' planes that they become slightly less dangerous. I send out the other LBAS with 2 fighters and 2 bombers to boss node. I have managed 7 consecutive boss encounters and 7 A-ranks this way without node and boss support expedition. While getting S-rank or killing the boss is almost impossible due to lack of bombing support at boss, this is, IMO an excellent way to both farm and chip the boss' health efficiently.
Wish you the best of luck on your clear run! I look forward to hearing good news! (^_^)
I'm still stuck in I-13 farming. Without using support expeditions, I am confident that my resources will hold 'till event end. The matter is only getting the drop. I would hate to finish this event with 2 less girls in my KanDex. :/
Heya! I actually just cleared the event last night. :D
I got very lucky, because 3 of my BBs had Sanshikis equipped instead of arpen shells. I forgot to swap those out from the debuff runs.. I even managed to achieve an S rank.. ;'D It was my second final kill attempt too! By the way, Wo-class Kais are the bane of this map again, just like last event.
I'm also still missing I-13.. I'm still undecided whether to go for her or clearing my monthly quests and EOs (for improvement materials). :/
Congratulations on clearing the event on all Hard! :D
I just watched your replay, and I am genuinely impressed with your fleet's performance despite having suboptimal equipment on most of the FBBs XD. And yeah, Wo-kais are the new CV Hime in preboss nodes, it appears. Since 2016 Summer event, I already nicknamed them "CV Hime in summer getup" because of their propensity of brickwalling players' runs. Expect more of them in the coming event, I guess :/.
And yes, with what time is left in the event, players will have to sort priorities. Having completed E-3H, I think you can already figure out the unpleasantries of farming in that map :/. I have decided that I'm going to forgo Fujinami farming and keep focusing on I-13 until event ends. Getting her is not a guarantee, either, despite all effort, but, hey, at least I tried. My only consolation is that drop ships usually return at much faster rate than reward ships... I can hope to be able to see them at Summer 2017, maybe, like I'm getting lots of Takanami drops (Skilled Lookout for everyone!) in my I-13 farming run.
Anyway, again, congratulations on completing Winter 2017 event, and good luck in whatever endeavor you choose to do in the remainder of the event. I look forward to seeing you again in Spring 2017 event, either in guide, or in message wall like this. :D
Thank you! ^-^ I was actually a bit worried that I would not be able to clear the event on hard in time.. I am glad I was able to do it though! I would not be able to keep on playing this game without getting every single First-class medal possible, haha. :D
I was quite surprised and impressed too when I found out about the equipment on my fBBs, which was a short while after I had cleared the event, when I had to take out some of their guns.. :o I like the name you have coined for the Wo-kais. I think it is quite funny and accurate as well. ^_^ Good times, when we still had actual boss characters as gatekeepers to the boss nodes. (not)
I went to clear my monthly quests and clearing 1-5, 2-5, 3-5 instead of farming for I-13. I value earning screws higher than obtaining her, since she will most likely reach my base someday anyway. Have you gotten your I-13 in the end? :O
Again, I want to thank you (and Zel-melon) for the suggestions and replays! ^-^ Those have really helped me and especially saved me a lot of time. I really do want to create a guide for next event, but I am still uncertain whether I will be able to. I think I will definitely be able to write a walkthrough for Summer 2017 though, since I will be back at home by then, provided that I am not on vacation during the event. :/
You're welcome! :) The pleasure is mine, friend. You helped me in past events with your guide, and I am pleased to be able to return the favor. (^-^)/ I also would love to see your guide for the coming event, but I understand that RL takes priority, so it's fine if you cannot. :)
I did not manage to find I-13, so, yeah, there are two empty cards in my KanDex now. :/ Still, I have no regrets, and I also got a lesson in efficient farming. I will still get them someday. >: | Some say farming on hard is a folly, but when the priority is completing event on all Hard, it is a consequence.
And true that about screws. Only recently I cared about screws, and I am actually surprised at how fast I can gather them once I actually put an effort to it. Right now I'm aiming to upgrade some of my Skilled Type 21s. At max upgrade, I think they will get +2 AA bonus, which put them close to standard Reppu - a fine escort for LBAS bombers for long range mission. I think I also need to give small caliber guns some love, too.
It's a pleasure conversing with you. I look forward to seeing you again, either in guide, or in message walls. Good luck and fair seas! (^_^)/
Glad to hear from you (even if I have to stalk a bit; sorry about that ^_^; ). Been wondering how you have been.
I forgo farming Fujinami on Easy and sort of rushing to E-3 (completing E-2 on Hard along the way) because the TP phase worries me a lot and I kind of want to get it over with ASAP... probably not the wisest decision ever. =_=
If you ever find yourself in need of info regarding E-2H for your run or for guide, feel free to ask. I might be able to provide. :)
Hey, always good to see the seaplane fighter guy back! :D
I have not managed to reach the boss node on E-2 Hard with Transport task force, so I went to farm for Fujinami instead. Still no luck though.. How are E-2 and E-3 on Hard? Perhaps, if you don't mind, you should start a new thread at my wall. :)
I actually have bad news for the unregistered user too, I probably won't be able to complete a guide for the current event, since my real-life situation takes up a quite a bit of my time now.. I hope I can even finish all maps on Hard.. :/
For anyone reading this and "waiting" on my guide, I recommend you to start with the event as soon as possible, since there is not much time left. If you have any questions, I will try my best to answer them and help you!
Yeah sure, for E-1 I just used 3 SS, 3 SSVs, with Ro-chan and Shioi included. As for equipment, I had my SSVs carry a Seiran and "special" Zuiuns. The regular SSs had two torpedoes equipped on them.
While I'm still farming E-2 on Easy. The composition I'm using can still be used to clear on Hard. Sending both support expeditions is recommended (but not for Easy), especially normal node support.

Hope this helps you, once again, I am sorry for making you wait. :/
I have used the historical setup at first, although it was quite reliable, it required a lot of repairs each sortie.
With the CTF, I am able to reach the boss node and achieve S ranks pretty much guaranteed. Repairs aren't needed as frequently, since I can keep sortieing the heavier ships with light damage.
Thabk you for your E7 post. Even though I'm on easy and you did hard, it is so thorough that I'm referring to it quite often.
I also like your tips/rants There sure are lots of event posts about "Who should I farm for next?", or the countless close calls on failed boss attempts and their sanity levels. I agree with you that it is all unnecesary and attention-grabbing, but that is a way to get adbice/encouragement/praise.
Congratulations on marrying Kongou and even getting her to 150. It is quite the long road for my fiancee and me, but there's no rush.
Hello, Yasuda-kun! Thank you for the kind words, I never would've expected someone would actually thank me for my event fleet composition posts, read the text on my user page, or even post at my message wall! ^_^
I'm glad I could be of help to someone. I hope you are faring well in E-7! How far are you into it?
The posts about sanity levels etc. really annoy me, as I find those really pointless and are just the extra posts I need to scroll through. Who am I/are we to prohibit those though. ┐(´д｀)┌
Also, I assume that Shoukaku is your favourite ship girl? Have you obtained the prototype catapult from E-6?
I married Kongou quite some time ago, but thanks anyway! ^_^
PS. You have quite a decent animelist on MAL too. :D
I've gotten to the boss two times (~7 attempts) and got one kill and another close kill (A rank) w/o support expeditions (used them, but normal didn't proc on any node so switched it to boss and they all missed). I spent today getting Ooyodo and Takanami to kai for FCF and skilled lookout.
I agree, those comments can be dramatic and sometimes annoying. But it is a community so people can share their thoughts, even I sometimes say things that don't benefit anybody
I finally cleared E6 after 25 final dance only runs. If only I hadn't blue-locked Maya.
I love Shoukaku, but. . . for a long time I've also had feelings for Yahagi so often second-guess myself. I know it's a game and all, but this is pretty special to me.
Thanks. I used to watch more, but since searching for a real deep masterpiece (like Nagi no Asukara or Shinsekai Yori, amongst others), I haven't found any recently. I guess I'm in a lull.
You seem to seem a little bored in KC, or at least not as excited/interested as you may have been when you started. Even I already sometimes question why do I spend so much time if it's just grinding. . What would be a real improvement is a fundamental change such as PVP. Currently, PVP isn't significant nor interesting, and if improved, it could be a fun way to test one's fleet with others and the game would be more interactive with other players. Basically, things get more interesting if you are not limited to AI. But this is just my thought and I haven't played long enough to speak with confidence.
Two boss encounters and a boss kill in 7 attempts doesn't seem too bad without support expeditions. I hope it gets even better with your FCF. Before Summer 2015 E-7, I never have had used a FCF. I was never a great fan of said equipment. However, having observed that usually just one of my girls would get heavily damaged at node J or M, if any, I decided to go with it. My main fleet's flagship, Maya, wouldn't really miss that equipment slot anyway, as she had an AACI setup. It worked really well indeed, even with 2 ships retreating, I was still able to get the boss to ~50% health. Also, with the skilled lookout equipped, my Prinz Eugen was able to cut-in a 100% (in my runs), partly due to her relatively high base luck of course. Again, good luck with clearing E-7! May RNGesus be with you! ^_^
"Freedom" of speech comes with prices, and those types of comments are small ones. As much as I dislike those, it is still better than an oppressed community with heavy censoring.
You cleared E-6 after "only" 25 final kill runs? People start screaming on the net after 10. I have not checked whether you did so too though.. xD
I think I know you mean with Shoukaku and Yahagi, I guess. Before I started playing KanColle, I really liked Yamato's design (from fan art on pixiv). It was my goal to obtain her even before I got into the game. Later, I found out about Kongou. She was my first ship girl to reach level 99 and remained there for a while, as I wanted to consider who to marry to at a later point, after getting Yamato (and Nagato). Kongou, Yamato, and Nagato were the "candidates". After more than a year since I started playing, I finally was lucky enough for Nagato, and, even later, Yamato to reach my base. However, it was too late. I was married to Kongou already. Firstly, because I like Kongou's personality the most. (Though I prefer Yamato's design over Kongou's.) Secondly, it took too long. And thirdly, the Kongou-class girls are the ones I sortie the most.
I have watched neither Shinsekai Yori nor Nagi no Asukara. Anime shows/movies I watched that I consider masterpieces include: Mushishi, Great Teacher Onizuka, Black Lagoon, Code Geass, Azumanga Daioh, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Nichijou, Lucky Star, K-On!, Clannad (and other Key shows), AnoHana, Haruhi, Monogatari series, Summer Wars, Ghibli movies, and some other. (My MAL profile: http://myanimelist.net/profile/Tikkiee )
I absolute adore Shinsekai Yori's and Nagi no Asukara's ending songs, Wareta Ringo, and Aquaterrarium by Nagi Yanagi, one of my favourite singers. Nagi Yanagi has such a good and soft voice. Her music is often quite soothing/relaxing too. I can listen to these songs on repeat for literally hours (and I have).
You are right, I am indeed a little bored with KanColle. I used to be really hardcore in KanColle, spending countless hours each day. Now this game feels like a part of my life I can hardly put away. I still spam expeditions whenever I'm behind my computer, even at school (but to a much lesser extent). I think I have achieved "too much" in the game and I'm running out of goals to aim for. I reached HQ level 120 and got into at least the top 500 virtually every month, though only once in top 20. Map 6-3 still needs to be cleared though. However, I have only a handful of girls I still need to obtain. I have almost all equipment cards unlock too (Goddamn legendary Shinden Kai, 53cm Bow Oxy torp, and other unobtainable equipment. Also, the weakest boiler/engine and Large Anti-torp Bulge.) Furthermore, I have all BBs (fBBs and BBVs included), CA(V)s, CV(L)s, and all at level 99 (except for some slow CVLs). I have "Oh! Yodo!", Sendai-class, and Agano-class (save for Sakawa.. T_T) at level 99 too. The only Kai Nis or second remodels I'm missing are Z1 and Z3 Zwei. I have every ship remodel that require a blueprint too and still have too many blueprints than I know what to do with. Furniture coin boxes are piling up too, even after having purchased every single furniture piece that showed up in the store and don't require a token. Not to brag, but first world problems... :/
Though I have a good amount of some of the best equipment, a vast majority of those are either not improved or have just a couple of stars. Thus the one thing I need most of are improvement materials for even better improved equipment. I made the mistake of spending pretty much all of it expanding my armory, rather than improving the already best ones. However, there is only so much you can do to acquire more of it. :/
Don't get me wrong. Though the paragraphs above may have a negative tone, I still really love the KanColle universe, its characters, and even still the game. As mentioned before, I used to spend countless hours in this game every day, and I still play this game more than is actually good for me. One thing I really like about this game is that you can play it on the background, during anime, meals, and homework.
PVP currently feels like something I have to do in order to clear the daily quests and earn some ship experience (especially for girls I cannot take to daily 5-4 grinds). It is quite uninteresting and flawed indeed. There is no interaction with the opposing player, though partly due to the nature of the game, it being a dice game, in which everything is just RNG, beside picking your fleet composition and equipment. Also, enemy fleets not getting "locked" is a major flaw in PVP. With which I refer to the disparity between the actual fleet you're fighting against and the one that showed up in the list. Not to mention the troll fleets in PVP... It would probably be a good thing to overhaul the whole PVP system in my opinion.
To my knowledge, KanColle used to have a "social" feature (the 24/7 disabled button). It would also probably be nice if the devs would implement a feature that allows for some player interaction (like a "real" online game), though not require it for the good stuff.
Well I actually took a couple days for those K2 b/c I was busy, but I got a chance at E7 again yesterday. I made it to the boss only 4 times, but I did manage to reduce HP bar to about a third. So it's not bad, but I have to spend at least today getting resources. .
Well on E6 I was getting pretty frustrated. However, I knew that everybody was stuck at some point and I changed my goal to "finish E6 med by event's end", so it was easier thinking like that.
Ooh haha interesting anime favorites. I haven't seen very many of those, but that's because I'm very much more interested in new series (recent years). I don't have a favorite genre, but I really fall for visuals (artwork, animation, sounds). It's too bad that a lot of series with good visuals have just that (Guilty Crown or Aldnoah Zero). So, I'll just keep waiting for the next big one. I'll send a friend request on MAL, if you don't mind.
Haha, I figured you had a lot, that's probably how a lot of veteran players (who play often) are. It just makes me sad when they have an elitist attitude towards new players (I do not get this vibe from you btw), but it's not unusual in any case. Sooo .. . you said you have Shinden Kai!? Or that's one of the few you don't have?
Yes, that's what I meant with the PVP - something more interesting and in general more contacf with other players. In another card game I played, there were guilds and so eventually guild events were created in which everybody (15 people) participated in for special rewards. That may be too big for KC now (and I'm partly just reminiscing), but in theory that would be very fun to have in-game friends and respective maps.
I finally decided to stick with Shoukaku because perfect waifu (kind of thought of Yahagi as a person I would be very good friends with). She's gone a far way already (lvl 1 -> 3 lol), so we are all ready for marriage and stuff (K2). So did you eventually give rings to the others (I understand that some TTK have one for their love, and others for rewards or other favorites)?
Congratulations on getting the Kai Nis! (I suppose you have remodeled them.) Did you finally manage to clear E-7? :O
I have been watching anime for quite a number of years now. So naturally I'd have relatively old shows on my list. I still watch anime quite a lot. In fact, I follow 14 shows airing this season. Even by my standards that's quite a lot. Current season has more underrated shows than usual imo.
Yeah, veteran players having an elitist attitude is a common thing in every game. I hate that too. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I like to help other people with the knowledge I have as well.
I don't have the Shinden Kai and the other "legendaries". Neither do I have the worst engine and the large torp bulge. I believe only some players on the first server have the Shinden Kai. The plane is that old.
A couple of years ago, I played another browser card game, Sword Girls Online, which had some interesting and fun mechanisms too. However, I didn't play too much of it.
I haven't given anyone else other than Kongou a ring. I've never bought one and don't think that'll happen either. I don't want to spend too much money on the game. No extra repair docks either. I have only bought 5 dock expansion, possibly more in the future. I didn't even intend on spending even a cent on the game at the beginning actually... :/
Yeah I finished E7. I know it's luck-based anyway, but I really got lucky with Haguro targeting a still ~175 hp AD princess out of four targets. lol sorry I meant I got them to kai. . so who have you farmed for? I'm deciding between Akashi (for improvements) and Unryuu (primarily for 601 Reppuu).
Yeah you've seen a lot. I used to watch a lot as well (back in 2013 I even watched every show of each season, up to 35 or so), but I might be in a bit of a lull since I am basically waiting until I find something really impressive.
Yeah, I've never seen anybody post their Shinden Kai, though we're talking about very old veteran players who may or may not still be playing and may or may not communicate with others specifically on websites likes these.
Haha that's like me, I don't spend money on free games so I was surprised when I decided I wanted to for KC. I bought the repair docks and some slot expansions, though I also will not purchase additional rings. Speaking of which, I once again am second-guessing on who is my favorite between Shoukaku and Yahagi. Maybe I should wait until I get Yahagi and then just see how both of them do over time. I can't believe I make such a big deal out of this, haha.
Congratulations on clearing E-7! ^_^ I got Unryuu during one of my map clear runs, Kazagumo as well. Earlier today, I finally got Mizuho from E-3, after 47 sorties (and only 14 S ranks)! I acquired an Amatsukaze clone few days ago too. I am going to farm for Umikaze later today. Hopefully I'll be able to get her then. My resources are relatively low and I don't have time tomorrow.
I doubt there are many non-Japanese players among those who have the Shinden Kai, as it was pretty early on. I wonder whether many Japanese teitokus visit this English wiki or the forum, once again, I doubt it.
This is not the first time in a free-to-play game where I initially decided never to spend a dime on it, but ultimately still do. :/ I never expected these to be this good.
I know what you mean with the ring stuff, it happened to me too. :/ If it was me, I'd choose Shoukaku over Yahagi, because she's more "useful" than Yahagi. Shoukaku is my favourite CV as well. Besides, I like Agano the most of all girls of her class. Not to say that Yahagi is bad though. I'm usually less fan of the "serious" types.
