Also they did a collaborations with World of Warships and some of the girls are now Captains for the ships...not to mention that they already announced an English version,so Azur Lane is coming to the west.
Well they hit Azur Lane developers with a Copyright because they used the term "Kanmusu" in one of their CMs.
But nothing more than that...to tell you the truth Kancolle should had a Collab with World of Warships first,I'm 100% sure that Wargaming made them an offer (WoW's is full of Kancolle players begging for a Collab since the game starterd) but Kadokawa or DMM refused it (this is my speculation seeing that AL isn't 1 year old and they have a collab while Kancolle has nothing) those guys hate foreigners by the looks of it.
I mean even japanese players stop by this wiki to give some tips for events so the popularity of KC in the West is a given, but after 5 years the game is still blocked for players outside of Japan.
Well I love both games so I would hate to see one of them fail, but KC developers are too narrow minded to see the benefits to open their game to more people...and bring KC Arcade to consoles in the process XD.
I'm sure they would done the copyright strike for "Kanmusu" with any other game, not just AL
I don't think that outright hate foreigners, but rather just decide to ignore them and if I had to guess who I would say it's DMM, as the whole DMM games page it's blocked to foreigners, not just KC, while the official KC page it's not blocked
Also, porting the arcade version to consoles would be hard, not only because it's already printing a lot of money for SEGA (who don't make consoles anymore) but also because they probably don't want the tragedy of Kancolle kai to repeat again...
In KC Arcade case it would be hard to fail like KC Kai,Arcade is made by people who know how to make games...plus KC Kai was managed really badly.
I preordered it in 2015 after the 2014 release was delayed...and even then I waited for another year before receiving it.
The webpage didn't show any info or pictures of the game until 1 or 2 months before the game released in 2016...not to mention that the people who preordered the limited edition didn't know what they were getting...well with the exception of the Kitatami and Ooi figures. All the other contents were unknown,in the end was a big brown box (not even a limited illustration in the box) and some postcards.
Plus the gameplay was adapted to make it a strategy game, but the battles kept the RNG from the original making it frustrating...not to mention that you can transfer just a limited quantity of Kanmusus from one playthrough to another, and the game never received updates to keep it alive (like DLC with new Kanmusus)
In KC Arcade we already know that the game is good, and even if Sega doesn't make consoles they still make games (Like the Yakuza series) so KC Arcade bombing in consoles would be hard, but your point that the Arcade version is printing money is pretty good,so that is one of the reasons (if not THE reason) to not port it to consoles,
Plus the game has a lot of girls that are not included in the arcade, and Kai Ni are not implemented yet? (I think I saw Ooi and Kitakami in Kai Ni but no others) so a KC Arcade version in consoles would be pretty incomplete right now.
Yea, if the arcade version ever got ported there would be 2 scenarios: either the console version becomes really popular and kills the actual arcade version in the process, or the console version somehow doesn't make it and dies off while the arcade version prevails
Since I played the original trilogy in PS3 the only Rebirth I played is 1 (Is a total remake of the first game, even the story is different) Rebirth 2 and 3 are in my backlog waiting to be played (but darn...other games XD)
The Noire game is the only one I played really casually...to the point that I still haven't finished it,but is not a standard RPG so I don't like the gameplay so much (I play it because Noire is the main heroine...that's all)
I was hyped for Hyperdevotion at first, but I kind of don't want to buy it now, I can enjoy chibi, but too much chibi kinda ruins it, and the yuri factor seems amplified a little bit too much. Overall this game doesn't really seems to fit Noire at all, and nothing I've seen so far looks enjoyable..
Go with your gut feeling there, there is a "stand in" for the player (you are Noire secretary and in charge of the strategy in the battles) also Noire main "love interest" (Every time Neptunia games pull the "you are in the game, get your waifu" is really not that satisfactory) but yeah...powering up by girls kissing is not exactly what Noire is looking (as the one thing she really wants is friends not Yuri) so I can safely say stay away from it if the gameplay and Yuri turns you off.
Talking about "getting your waifu"...one thing that Neptunia fans loved from the Azur Lane Collab is that you can marry the Goddess you want...for the first time XD
