• Hello.

As your assigned Wiki Manager, would you be interested in having my name on Special:Community by using this script It would maybe help redirect users that have Fandom-specific questions to me. Let me know what you think!

• KanColl Kai Vita game is frozen at state of release in 2016, so modern changes to the browser game are not reflected.

Slotitem.xml 53 - 烈風改 = Reppuu Kai

Browser game 53 - 烈風 一一型 = Reppuu Model 11

Technically we need a ship/equip database forked off from the main browser game, but noone ever bothered.

• That was a wiki-wide syntactic/linkage change

-> target
redirect -> target
... -> ...
redirect -> target
redirect -> target

for Reppuu Kai redirect and Reppuu Model 11 target. I just left the second (semantic) part of the fix to whoever cares, as I don't deal with Vita.

Can't say that it won't happen again as the aforementioned change can be run routinely for any redirect and its associated target, but I will take note that it should be old name for Vita (I kinda knew already, but, again, I don't care xD), at least until it is forked.

• I don't think anyone deals with Vita. I haven't even played the game for a year or two. Most of my edits were information mined from the translation project.

The only real English resources for playing the game are this wiki and a trophy guide over on psnprofiles. Other than that you have to google translate chinese wiki pages.

• This has been going on for some time, I forgot when exactly it started.

So, whenever I wanted to open some users' posted pictures, I got a pop-up like that picture below.

Here is the thing. If the picture is shown in Special:WikiActivity page (I top-listed that page on my browser), I could view it npnp, but then I went to the page where that picture is located and try to view it again, I got that .octet-stream for that very same picture.

So far I found it happened if I do 'right click -> open in new tab' or 'left-click-hold-drag the pic to browser tabs'.

For example, one user posted Kongou's new remodel's new scene.

action 1: in Special:WikiActivity page -> right click the picture -> open in new tab -> picture shown in a separate page which is normal.

Oct8
action 2: go to Kongou's page -> find the poster -> right click the pic -> open in new tab -> --------------------------------------->

Why is that it only works in Special:WikiActivity page and not the actual page/comment the picture is located?

Thanks and sorry for bothering for this long post.

EDIT

After posting this, I cannot view that attached picture to the right anymore. I still could if I do it from Special:WikiActivity though.

• Looks like a wikia fandom bug. It is different because files are encoded/stored differently (since it is a bug).

It is fine to save them as .jpg/.png/.webp instead of .octet-stream, but it won't work in new tabs since they are setting wrong headers so browsers just wont treat it as images, just binaries to download.

• Special:WikiActivity uses downscale variants, which are served with correct headers, pages/comments use default variants with broken headers (not all images are borken like that though).

$ curl -sI -H "accept:image/webp" https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/kancolle/images/4/49/Kongou_kai_ni_c-2.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/150?cb=20190422141351 | grep -E "^content-[td]"

Maybe it is related to their new "feature" of serving images as webp as well.

• I.........see (not). So it's the code.

I found that some old pics in the comment I can view normally, like those from March 16 on World 6 page, so I guess it's the recent ones.

...oh well, it's not like it's the end of the world anyway. Just sucks.

• Hello, as an admin on this wiki, I need to make you aware of this thread.

      Loading editor
• Thanks for the prior notice, it is much appreciated, as we can have some 24-48 hours to make necessary preparations before FANDOM does any deletions (if this is bound to happen anyway).

        Loading editor
• Also, I will probably delete those assets myself, since I uploaded a good portion of them.

Something to note here though. Those assets are only a small portion of all uploaded game assets. How those specific categories are known to 3rd parties is something that seems strange to me. That is, that DMCA notice is rather selective. Then, if real, it makes it unclear if we can upload any game related assets from now on, which effectively ceases the operation of this wiki.

• Hello, could you please revert this edit? It was a malfunctioning spam bot and I cannot revert it due to an abuse filter that prevents people from editing others' user pages.

Thanks!

• Doing people (and myself) a favor and requesting to have my Wikia privileges stripped. It was a long time coming. Thank you for the 4 years we spent together, you, the rest of the old staff and the community. I wish to live the remainder of my own life for myself now, no longer haunted by the Wikia's former associations.

I'll still be playing the game on/off and hopefully the Wikia stays up-to-date and is well maintained, as it has been before us, right now and probably without your familiar faces in the future as well. Already it seems promising how adaptive the team has been in filling in the shoes of those that came before them, keep it up. That's how winning was done as a big team here at the Wikia.

Please take care of the Wikia. Please be gentle, just and fair to the community. Be honorable, caring and supportive of each other as the staff. Finally and above all else, cherish yourselves and your own well-being as individuals.

Farewell, good luck and fair seas. Thank you for our time together. -McDerp

P.S: Oh and don't forget to remove dat torpedololi lurking in the frontpage. (^:

• I noticed Kruss increased the limit of the ShipLink template so I tried generating a list of all ship classes, but anything more than 13 ships seem to hit the limit of my screen (i.e. get cut off at the top).

So I was wondering if there's any easy way to change the tooltip width to 480px or other methods to style it in two columns.

On a different topic, I wanted to change Верный to Verniy in the modules, similar to how Gangut and Tashkent are being treated currently.

As far as I can tell, this would require:

1. Reupload / Rename (requires mod privilege?) all Верный CG to Verniy
2. Change _name to "Verniy" and remove _localized_name
3. Rename Module:Верный to Module:Verniy
4. Change all "Верный/" in Module:Hibiki to "Verniy/"

Are there more modules behind the scene that I missed?

      Loading editor
• Update regarding the Верный / Verniy thingy.

I've made the changes to the module reuploaded all CGs as duplicates for testing. Nothing seems to break so far(?). Might still want to remove the duplicates and redirect properly tho.

However, since there's already a Module:Verniy page that serves as a redirect to Module:Верный, I can't rename the latter to the former without deleting the former first, which I don't have permission to.

So I'm requesting for Module:Verniy to be deleted and Module:Верный renamed to Module:Verniy.

• I changed ShipLink a bit with {{#vardefine:even_break|{{#if:{}||<br>}}}}, so basically it will use two columns starting from 10 ships (can also define that variable for more cases, like two columns for 4 ships but not for 3).

Also Verniy module and assets renamed (so we don't have extra asset dups around).

Sweet, thanks!

Didn't know there's something as handy as #vardefine ( ̄▽ ̄;)

• The size 69 seems weird. Is it actually 72 or 64?

I wonder how Dewy calculated the result...
