Character
Appearance
- Like Saratoga, and unlike the majority of the carriers in-game, Intrepid uses a gun: In her case, the American M1903 Springfield Rifle, which is a bolt-action rifle in service with some American forces in the Pacific. She carries two five-round stripper clips in her left hand. The rifle's muzzle also expands from her base form in her Kai form.

Trivia
- Launched on the 26th of April, 1943, and commissioned on the 16th of August as the 4th ship of the Essex-class, USS Intrepid (CV-11) has led a long and very eventful history, participating in several major engagements throughout the Second World War.
- Among other nicknames she earned during her World War II service, there's "The Fighting I", "Decrepit", and "Dry I". The latter two are due to her reputation of being repeatedly damaged in battle and being sent back to drydock in the States for repairs constantly. Among these damaging hits include no less than four kamikaze hits.
- Arriving to the Pacific she started operations with strikes on the Kwajelein Atoll, taking part in further strikes on Peleliu and the Operation Hailstone Truk raids, taking a torpedo and needing repairs. During the Battle of Leyte Gulf her planes helped sink Musashi and Zuihou, and possibly Zuikaku. Towards the end of Leyte operations she was struck by a kamikaze, and was struck twice again the following month. She returned after repairs to the Pacific in support of the Okinawa invasion, and was again hit by kamikaze attacks.
- Postwar she was decommissioned but re-activated in 1952 and modernized as an attack carrier capable of launching jets. She then took part in various exercises and NATO operations, before being reworked into an anti submarine vessel in the early 60s. During this time she also participated in the US Space Program, tasked with retrieving both the Aurora and Gemini space pods. She was once again modernized and sent for operations in Vietnam before returning to routine patrol. She was eventually retired in 1974.
- After being moored for several years in the Philadelphia Navy Shipyards, she was brought to New York City in 1982 to become the floating centerpiece of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, and was later designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1986.
- Intrepid is the second ship in-game whose real life equivalent is still floating as a museum, with the first being Iowa.
