• Hiburi, unlike her sister Daitou, is more reserved and softspoken.
• She refers to herself in third person.
• In her Secretary 3 line, she can be heard telling Daitou to stop messing around, which suggests that she has to look after Daitou.

Trivia

• Named after Hiburi Island located near Uwajima, Ehime.
• Launched in April 1944, she was the first of her class and a combination design of the preceeding Mikura Class and designs for the later Ukuru class.
• She led a very short service life, being sunk by USS Harder (along with Matsuwa and Sado) in August '44 as part of the ill fated HI-71 convoy.
