^ Littorio is usually referred as the 2nd ship of the Vittorio Veneto class (because the construction of both ships started the same day but VV was completed first)
I know both European powers and Japan called it the Maryland class. This is because Newport News finished their Colorados(Maryland, West Virginia) faster than the New York ship building corporation finished theirs(Colorado, uncompleted Washington). This is most likely why the US Navy chose West Virginia over Washington to keep(there is no official reason we have been able to find but this is probably one of the big factors).
My understanding is that West Virginia was complete (or mostly complete) while Washington was not. Further, apprently the Japanese made a strong case to keep Mutsu with regard to the Washington Naval Treaty, becuase otherwise they would have had to get rid of her...and the US would have only been able to keep Colorado.
My best guess for the identity is a toss between Colorado and Country Roads-
I checked the Pit-Road scale kits for all three of the Colorado-class, and Maryland didn't receive 20 mm gun tubs on turret three while the other two did.
As stated though in a previous post, the camo pattern makes it hard to discern who among the two of them since it's not in any dazzle pattern that Colorado and Wee Vee had worn in 1944 (but look like Measure 1 instead, which was worn by TF1/Battleship Row on Dec. 7.)
That would be wrong. Washington was launched in September 1921. West Virginia was launched in November 1921. At time of being Struck Washington was 75.5% complete. West Virginia at the time when she was launced was 65% complete. According to https://www.usswestvirginia.org/uss_west_virginia_history.htm
Take not Washington was struck on February 8, 1922.
While West Virginia might have caught up to her unlucky sister I doubt she was anymore complete especially considering her commissioning wouldn't be until the following year inn December 1923. Most likely they were in a similar state of completeness at the time of the Washington Naval treaty but it was clear that Newport News was the better shipyard at completing this battleship class faster. Note that Colorado(built at the same shipyard as Washington) herself wasn't complete until August of 1923. Perhaps New York ship building corporation could only build one BB at a time efficiently. In any case it was clear who was better at building ships rapidly.
Also only Maryland and Nagato were going to be kept origininally. It's less that Japan made a good case and more that they had to make a deal for the school children who donated for Mutsu. Unless they wanted their money to go to waste.
now here is a multi million japanese Yen question... When can we get the Big Seven cut in combo? like having 3 Big Seven ships from different class will triggered there own combo in one sortie different to "Nelson Touch" and Nagato's "Full Broadside Attack" insted of only flagship will trigger they will do it simultaneously?
I want them to add a ultimate meme combo.

In b4, striking force made out of all big 7 members with special synergy or something
Tanaka decided to have someone who has never done a battleship, draw one. I'm surprised Akira got booted out. Now I feel the most likely are Drew and Fujikawa. I guess Parseri, Bob, and even ones who haven't really drawn for KanColle since forever have had their chances increase too. Souta was also contacted by the Devs recently for Zuipara drawings too.
