Introduction
巡洋艦主砲だったものを大型戦艦の副砲として転用しました。「大和」型戦艦に搭載され、対空戦も可能な、性能・運用性ともに優秀な戦艦副砲となりました。防御面においては、諸説ありますが「大和」型の唯一の弱点という指摘もありました。本副砲は、同砲を「大和」型副砲として運用、改修と最適化を施した改良型装備です。
The cruiser main gun array that was converted for use as battleship secondaries. Loaded on the Yamato-class battleships, they became capable battleship secondaries, boasting anti-air capabilities, efficiency and traverse speed. There are differing opinions about the defensive plating, but it was pointed out as a Yamato-class' Achilles' Heel. This turret has been improved and optimized for use as secondaries on the Yamato class.
