I suppose the arguement was about playing casual, they werent suggesting all hard @ second event or anything crazy like that. Casual is a pretty new thing which was introduced during one hell of an event. Dang, my "casual player" friend who doesnt stock anything ever and has mediocre fleet couldnt clear it on casual, even though usually she can handle easy. So... it was really needed back then, but not always.
And in that context - yeah, 4 months is pretty reasonable to clear events on EASY. Bosses' stats arent really softened on casual, too, but the difference in rewards is noticeable.
Of course it's not right to tell anyone how to play their game, but you dont need to be 24/7 hardcore player to clear easy on a second (or even first, if you started immediately after an event) event. You just need certain level of dedication to actually grind up your girls and some guts not to get scared after the first unsuccessful easy sortie.
I think this "Normal/Hard are going to be difficult" warnings are a norm by now. I recall seeing them ... every event for at least a year, I think? Anyway, they're not wrong...
Good luck, everyone. I mean, how much of a nightmare can a SMALL event get... but you should never underestimate The Salt.
So, nothing besides seasonals is announced, huh?
I am praying for a surprise Kai2 ' v '
We should just accept our fate now. Events always were 2 months apart from each other and nowdays they're ALL large. :^)
RNG being a bitch is kind of the reason people stockpile resources. If you could clear every phase in like 10-12 runs (assuming 50% sorties success rate) it would take you pennies to run through the entire event on hard minus the farming. You could literally start the event with a softcap and be chill about it. Personally I dont bother with weeklies anymore, but jsut running expedition fleets and some basic dailies do huuuuge returns.
If your success depended on RNG this much, why is there people who consistently clear events on hard and get all ships? And mind you, not even such famed people as Shin. Just normal players, not mentioning all the generic frontliners who dont have the wiki aid. Actually, they get screwed by random taihas/1 hp LD boss survivals and such, but you dont see it as clearly as the successful result in the end.
Sure, one individual run can fail, it's a dice roll. But you have an ability to do many, many of these dice rolls and as long as you do everything in your power to maximize your success rate (making a coin flip instead of throwing a D20), you have 100% chance of clearing an event even on hard.
Also farming new girls via resetting casual is an option, if you dont want to farm hard. it's usually pretty cheap even if it involves going through a pointless phase every time, and assuming its a new ship it's quite rewarding. (but yeah, if RNG screws you over extra hard and you res dont feel that good, there's always next event)
There are 2 types of people:
Those who take the wiki by storm once they start and clear their first (or second, if the first happened to be large scale bullshit event) on at least the easiest difficulty and after 1-1,5 years can do all hard
And those who have 20k of every resource and like 10 high level ships before a large scale after playing for 2 years and failing casual miserably.
These are the extremes but I personally know people from both
If she follows the example of her squadmates, level 70 should be more than enough! (or very close) Panic mode is unnecessary here.
Shoud additional levels be desired, it's a lot easier to use a X Kai ship later on.
Judging by the poll on the main page, more people actually care about Maestrale than Nelson
Yeah, I was surprised too but still
It's sort of... always been like that? The only time a ship didnt lose it's "event only" status upon remodel implementation was Isokaze. But devs stated several times that "IT'S NOT K2! IT'S NOT K2! IT'S NOT K2! K2 LATER!" so I guess it doesnt really count. (Unless Gotland will get B Kai remodel too or something, but I guess they said "second remodel")
As for 100+ runs... I feel your pain, friend, but we have to keep fighting
Once Gotland receives a K2, she will be available through "normal means", be it a drop on 6-5 or LSC with a prequestee being a drop on 6-5. So if that's the only reason of saltiness - that's too early
^ that's probably just a seasonal art/some other art that wont be in the game. She needs some love and K2, though, I agree
Yay for more American ships! ... I wonder when will the event be, though
Dont worry about only the girls in your "active fleets" being carried over, it's obviously all of them (as in - in your fleet as a whole). I think it shouldnt happen but... in the back of my mind I'm still afraid that they'll end up being lvl1
Older world maps arent supposed to be challenge for end-game players, becuase that's literally what you have in the beginning of the game. When a newbie is clearing World 3/4, they dont even have many K2 ships, not mentioning strong equipments/rare ships like duckies. Right now these maps are fairly easy for people who went through some events, but when you started out - .. not so much.
Since the devs STILL remember that there are new players in our ranks (seasonal quests being mostly W1-2, introduction of so-called casual mode), I doubt that their goal is to destroy them right from the start. There's no reason to do them too much harder, well, maybe only to compensate guaranteed boss routings. That's why, for "older" people who are re-clearing them, it should be pretty easy.
... making high HQ level EOs harder, however, is fair game.
Only one (even if the most promoted one) of the starters is a potato! Only around 1/5th of people had her as a starter, so I dont think it's the case. They are giving American ships to different artists, it seems, and none of Shibafu's previous works created THIS much of an outrage, so I dont think they even though about that chance
They said "aside from IJN and USN ships". Because IJN is HUGE in KC and USN ships are drawn by mostly different artist (maybe to show that America is diverse??? in any case, it applies only to them) and Intrepid is an USN ship
So yeah, it's safe to assume that Konishi will do this one (at least I hope so)
If it'll be like last year, then most/all Euroships will return and I WILL HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE AT GRAF, UH, COME HOME ALREADY!
But more Euroships as drop/rewars woild be amazing~!
I am an A student on an engineering speciality with all that Kancolle so jokes on you all who can't multitask ̄▽ ̄
... But seriously, though, with events nowdays starting mid-month as a rule and lasting all the way up to 10th-15th of the next month, it's not like an extra week or two shift would bring too much disappointment anyway.

Incoming event delay too because reasons.
That's what I am afraid of, but I personally don't mind cause I work, but people who are going to start their School soon is going to mind a lot
Well, I wouldnt say so. For me, for example, it's easier to farm during uni lectures, but not_so_fun when I'm trying to have an actual vacation in summer. (I enjoy events a lot, but god, the salt of farming) Moreover, 3 other events happen during the academic year.
But devs.... rename it into Fall event already. ; v ;
Can't you rewatch a marriage sequence with a current CG in the library, though? (for instance, if you married a girl in her normal CG, you can replay her marriage with rainy CG if she is currently has it in game).
My Nagato has 0 seasonals so I never tested it but I heared someone saying something like that.
