<p><i>[One of you need to change Episode 11 to Episode 12 in the front page since I can't do that. Thanks.] - Gensui updated it.</i>
</p><p>This thread is for the discussion of Kancolle Anime Epoisode 12; "Enemy Planes Above, Dive-bombing!" or "敵機直上、急降下!"

<hr><p>On other news; the next Anime season is coming up in a few weeks and guess what shows are making their return: <i>Oregairu S2, Sidonia no Kishi and FATE UBW S2!</i> (GDI Ufotable for pulling that S2 again!) <i>Denpa Kyoshi and Yamada 7-nin</i> are also starting their engines. Oh and there's also Gintama, Nisekoi and Nagato-ruhi but those are either like-it-or-hate-it-type.
</p><p>Note: Now this is where it is revealed that Kanmusus are souls that escaped from the sea in hope of returning to living a leisure life on land and Shinkaisen-kan are angels that wish to return Kanmusu back to the sea before they turn rogue.
</p><p>All in all it's been a ride...not a fun one but it's a ride... I hope that if I ever need to do this again that it will be about Mutsuki-class...wait, maybe I asked too much...just read the script before doing it I guess?
</p><p>If there's one thing I regret...it's not doing [this] ever since episode one. GG Kusakawa I see that you kept some skills during your works with SHAFT (mainly the headtilt).

Ooh, the delay was <i>only</i> for Crunchyroll. That was pretty misleading choice of words for them, I already thought that the comments after mine were just trolling or something. =/ <p>Now, first of all, I'm really happy that Taihou got her (brief) appearance, but I'm way more happier to see that Kitakami didn't got sunk after all. 8D </p><p>Second of all, what on earth did I just spend 12 weeks on? Those who expect a historically accurate story are free to play "historically accurate" as well.

<p>I also figured out that the voice shouting out Akagi-san was Fubuki. I know she refers to her as Sempai for all of the series, but that is definitely Fubuki's voice.

<p>Well, I never said that I hate altered history, just kinda dissapointed a bit, they tricked me into thinking that they will follow the history by sinking Kisaragi and later Shouhou. Though, this way the story will be more exciting, and no way guessing of what will happen.

<p>the abyssals had never been USN to begin with. they have Torpedo Cruisers. USN did not. they just happen to use the same gun calibers and planes.
</p><p>imo, the abyssals are a combination of sunk ship's negative emotions. they have classes that a particular Navy back then does not (Torpedo cruisers are exclusive to IJN), they have equipments that they shouldn't have for being USN (powerful German radars and seaplanes, IJN's trademark long lance torpedos). Back during WW2, USN's torpedos are very well known to be horrible (prone to swim in the wrong direction, not exploding when they hit their target, or even turning back at the launcher.
</p><p>using the above reasons, anyone expecting 100% historical accuracy is kinda... i dunno... "foolish"? english isn't my first language and i'm not sure what word to use in this situation.

<p>The answer is kinda simple. The anime itself wasn't planned as the real anime, but only as a commercial for the game. The 12 ep was obviously aimed to hook potential players into the game. Let's look closer (I'll go backwards): </p><p>- At the very end Fubuki is shown close-up saying "Welcome back, commander!" to the screen. I think it doesn't need a comment. </p><p>- After that weird battle Akagi is shown close-up saying about some history changing (I never thought they fought abyssals back in 194X) to the screen. It must bring the feeling they're doing something incredibly important here. <i>Bait for power gamers and achievers.</i> </p><p>- Girls were very inspired by the message that admiral was alive. After battle ends they rushed back with "Hurry! Admiral is waiting!". <i>Bait for harem lovers.</i> </p><p>- Not completely sure about this one, but the Hime transforming into Hime is likely the "THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM" trait, and things about sinking everyone for some unknown reason could be a suggestion to some hidden plot or advanced mechanics (yes, we know it's actually none of this). <i>Possibly a bait for ones who seek awesomness or deep plot".</i> </p><p>- Also, the end of previous ep was super tense just to ensure everybody will come back and see this 25 mins of commercial. <i>Bait for everyone.</i> </p><p>And so, with the main goals set, the rest is filled with some random thoughtless stuff just to keep it in one piece. Obviously the ones familiar with the game find the ep ridiculously awful. However "<i>fuck you players, the anime is not for you"</i> attitude can give us another 12 eps of suffering in the meantime. </p>
